Makra story started back in 2017 when our founder, Amr, thought of leveraging his financial and development expertise to combat poverty by fostering employment and knowledge in local crafts to serve corporate customers in the Luxury home decor and textile sector worldwide.

Together with his family, we embraced the new venture idea and actively participated in conceptualization, incorporation, and immersion within the Makra artisans’ families, ensuring that our journey remained rooted in authenticity.

We defined our international B2B customers needs for quality products, sustainable supplies and a standing fulfilment service.

Makra developed an amazing network of talented and scalable artisans in Upper Egypt, multilingual and qualified young freelancers, and committed experienced co-workers in Luxor, Cairo and Haarlem to create the Makra Handmade Store during a journey.
